If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Every time I see that pic Cecil it reminds me of how poorly I'm doing with mine and my friends YP blush That fish is a BEAST and a great motivator for me! How old was that fish?

Gosh, the late great Dr. Willis -- God bless him -- aged if for me. It's in a thread here somewhere but I believe it was 6 years old? I think the thread is titled State Record Perch or Indiana State Record Perch. If I can't find it hopefully someone else can find it.

I never get tired of this fish, how could I? The tape is a bit off on the front of the fish - if adjusted perfectly, I see at least 16.5" of YP beauty here. She's an astounding fish...and only age 6?!? That's an amazing combination of great genetics, great water quality, abundant forage and/or feed, and great management techniques. This is my goal - to be close enough to walk in Cecil and Cody's YP shadows. Long way to go, yet.

TJ,

It was measured on a board at 16 1/4. I think tapes in photos can be a bit of an illusion.

Thanks for the kind words!

All due to the master Dr. Perca!

So Cecil where's that mount located currently? I'm headed your direction next week for work, I'd love to get a look at that thing in person.

PLEEEEASE tell me it got mounted somewhere you get to look at it occasionally?

It's right inside the studio door. Just give me a buzz if you want to stop by to make sure I'm not out running an errand.

"This is my goal - to be close enough to walk in Cecil and Cody's YP shadows. Long way to go, yet". TJ, I feel privileged to walk downwind of those two.
Dlowrance, I walk by that thing every time I'm at Cecils and I can't say on here what reaction I have every time.

Never ever stand downwind of me Bob without a gas mask! Especially after I've had chili!

Cecil I've seen you mention before about not getting credit for a record. Is there a thread or a something about that? I'm curious about the story and why you didn't without completely taking away from this post
