Hey everyone so the other day a kind person had a pic out here of his modified fish feeder on PVC floating in his water. Which I thought was a cool idea and want to do something close to what he did.

My question is if I do this and put an anchor on it to keep it in one place would it benefit me to move the feeder around the pond say once a month. I sometimes throw fish feed in other spots in my pond and they tear it up and it's not even close to the feeder?

I know n8ly said something about having a couple of feeders on the pond for those other fish in the other side of the pond but I just thought maybe I could move one around every 4 or 5 weeks? Any thoughts on this? Or would it be best to leave it in one spot and not confuse all my fish?

Thanks,

Although I've been feeding fish for years, I'm far from an expert.

However, my person thoughts are that the feeders should remain stationary, and feed approximately the same time during the feeding season. I adjust mine to go off about 30-60 minutes after sunrise, and 60-90 minutes before sunset.

That works for me.

I'm just guessing, but I'd say keep it stationary. Once trained, my fish know roughly when the feeder will be going off since they start coming around 10-15 minutes before it goes off.

I have mine on the pier, but the wind blows it all over the pond depending on wind direction, and they still eat it no matter what direction it blows. Not sure if they follow it or it is reaching fish that aren't around the feeder.

Yeah mine has been in the same spot and goes off at the same time for the last 4 years, but it got me to thinking when I threw a bunch a food 200 feet from the feeder and I had some big hits on it. I guess if they really want to eat they will just go find the food, but I have also noticed that BG on beds will not leave them to go eat, but if I throw food next to them they will eat it right away! I may just buck up and get a second feeder even if its just a smaller one.

thanks,
RC
