http://aquaplant.tamu.edu/plant-identification/alphabetical-index/water-pennywort/Pennywort is terribly invasive, and the pond in the top picture could easily be covered by fall. Spray it, it's runners, and expect it to continue to pop up occasionally. I love my aquatic plants, but this is not one to have, as it is a very rapid grower. Very common down here though.
