Also, would this work if we did the street taco thing instead of the lolly? I could take you to a shanty that has the most excellent street tacos in N TX. Greasy corn tortillas with flat top charred barbacoa cheek meat, cilantro, bitter white onions, and nuclear tomatillo sauce? Perhaps some elotes too? We would have to hit the barrio to get them, but I'll be packing so you could rest easy while we wait in line. Just don't make direct eye contact with anyone while we're there, and our odds of survival should increase dramatically.

I'm in. I'd love to see Santa Claus in a shoot out.

But as I sit here waiting for things to warm up a smidge, I was reminded of Robert A. Heinlein's "Stranger in a Strange Land".

I was going to pop a hole for the diffuser with my boot the other day just off the pier after I cranked up the compressor. Then I thought, "No Bob would enjoy that too much if I fell in!" Instead I got the spud!

Pfft - I've watched 6 seasons of Sons of Anarchy, I think I know how to handle the vatos by now. The show even inspired me to start a RMC [Riding Mower Club] up in Lincoln - the Bluegrass Bastardos. I might even wear my cut - it's a North Face vest with a few Daffodils in full bloom on the back. While it's not too threatening, one of the member's daughters did the sketch and we felt obligated to adopt the mascot - she worked on it for a week. In case you're wondering...yes, we wear black socks with our shorts.

Bob, I screwed up and left my primary carry piece in the hunting cabin in Wi. I had to retrieve it before leaving for Texas if that says anything....

TJ, we may have both missed the obvious. DD1 has publicly said that he would be interested in seeing all this. Having grown up in that neighborhood, I can't imagine any bad scenario where you or I would even come into play if Dave was there.

Guys, this conversation brings to mind an old scuba diving axiom that goes like this:

When you are scuba diving, it is not required that you be able to out swim a shark, only that you are able to out swim your dive buddy.

You figure out the parallel to taco retrial .

Agreed. TJ is dedicated, resourceful and extremely creative. He's doing things that weren't supposed to be possible in Nebraska.

Thanks guys - couple more pond records taken Saturday - Bruce you should have been there. Will post this week.

Wind was blowing Saturday, with gusts up to 35 mph, but we gutted it out and posted a couple new pond records in the process in addition to several SMB, HBCP, WE [up to 18"] and YP!

This fish measured 11.25", and I'm calling it a GRES hybrid. The margin on the opercular tab was very faint/nonexistent, and gape was very large. Added second photo below, sorry for the shadows. Pectoral nor caudal fins were very yellow, but still believe this a GRES hybrid. These fish were originally stocked in 2010 accidentally [ID originally as RES] at around 6".




This fish measured 11.25" also, and shares a lot of characteristics with the first fish. I'm also calling this a GRES hybrid - note the bright yellow pelvic and anal fins, faint margin on opercular tab, and very large gape. Added a couple more photos below allowing a little better perspective.




Last fish went 11" and my call is a female RES - several differences between this pure RES and the fish above. Was very excited to see her! All fish taken on teardrop waxie combo.
