I purchased an aeration system from Ted Lea at Forevergreen a few years ago. I had found Ted to be just a super vendor and his service to be outstanding. It only made sense to recommend Forevergreen and Ted Lea to my neighbor when their pond was complete.

My neighbor notified me that he received a return email from Forevergreen that Ted Lea had passed away. If any of you know Ted, is this really true? If it is, it terribly saddens me and I offer his family our prayers and sympathy.

Hi Tim, unfortunately it is true. Ted had a very short battle with cancer last spring. We all miss him terribly. Let me know if I can help your friend out.

Theodore A. “Ted” Lea, 60

May 21, 2014

Theodore A. “Ted” Lea, 60, of Wapakoneta, died at 9:48 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014, at the Cleveland Clinic, after a battle with cancer. He was born on Jan. 27, 1954, in Fremont, Ohio, to Harlan L. and Peggy (Yoh) Lea. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Largo, Fla. On July 30, 1979, he married Terri L. Frey who survives in Waynesfield.

He is survived by his three children, Tasha (Salman Mahboob) Lea, of San Francisco, Calif., Travis (Amber) Lea, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Theodore Lea, of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Timothy Lea, of Wapakoneta, and a sister, Tamara Green, of Florida. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Kaleb, Aaron, Ethan and Ashton Lea, Haley Stemen and Layla and Zain Mahboob.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Earl W. Frey.

Ted was a 1972 graduate of Wapakoneta High School. He worked at Sohigro / Terra near Moulton for over 27 years and in 1999 he retired as plant manager. Ted then started his own business, ForeverGreen & CleanPonds, specializing in lawn and pond care. He was very dedicated to his business and especially enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and working in his shop.

A private gathering to celebrate Ted's life will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank Uniopolis E.M.S. for their help and the many friends and extended family for all of their support.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.

Condolences may be expressed at schlosserfuneralhome.com.

The family has entrusted Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services to handle the arrangements.

Yes he was. I shared a couple of e-mails and a phone conversation with him once about a couple of his products. Really nice guy.

Yup bought a few things from him. Got all my weighted hose from Ted. He had the best buy at the time! He didn't even know me and PM'ed one day and said to holler at him if I have any trouble he would try and help!

It's too bad but this kind of thing happens all to often with that sorry C word.

Hope his family is doing ok!

Wow, this truly is sad. Sounds like Pancreatic Cancer to hit so fast. Had a brother in law only last 3 months from that sorry disease. If anyone from Forevergreen is out out there, I hope the business keeps on going and I mean it when I say I'm terribly sorry for your loss.

God bless the family and my sincerest condolences, I lost my dad to Pancreatic cancer on 10/02/14 also. It's a silent killer for sure and there are very limited treatment in stage 4 like my dad had.

There is another "monster" out there as well.

It's the fastest growing cancer in the United States. (500% increase)

The beast is known as Esophageal Cancer.

Every bit as deadly as pancreatic cancer. My brother,
best friend, and business partner was diagnosed with Stage 4
Esophageal Cancer April 26, 2014 and checked out 2.5 months later
on July 8, 2014. Before this he was never sick a day in his life.

If you have acid reflux on a regular basis see your
doctor because Esophageal cancer really is a major
nightmare to deal with.

I talked to Ted a few years back about an aeration system and was going to finally buy one this spring from him. I'm truly sorry for
his family.

By the time doctors determined she had pancreatic cancer,my sister ha
d only three weeks to live. And like ZEP, my only brother was diagnosed with esophageal cancer,stage3 in april,2014.

He was operated on and while doing well, faces a long and painful recovery. This cancer is little known.

I mention this only to reinforce what ZEP said.If you have acid reflux or know of anyone with this symptom, see a throat specialist asap.

Bernie if your brother or his family is on Facebook,
the Facebook link below is a great resource for families dealing
with this dreaded disease. I hope he continues to beat the beast.

Thanks for the information. I just sent it on to my brother. He's back at work,so I doubt if my hard headed brother will take advantage of it. But, I'm sending it to his children,so they are aware.

Maybe a bit late but my condolences to Ted's family. I was really sad to learn about his passing. Regards

Yeah he was the real deal. He sent me some air stuff to test in my pond and a couple of fusers for testing and when I got done and told him I was gonna send it back to him he just told me to keep it all for when I may need it! Mr. Ted was truly genuine. frown

Everything I ever bought through Ted is still functioning perfectly. It's still hard for me to believe he's not around.

Two very close family members of mine have died from esophageal cancer. They weren't able to fight it very long.
