I was amazed I put tiger bass in my pond yesterday about an hour after putting them in I saw them feeding on some minnows I didn't think they would start up that quickly And this warm snap has my brim eating like crazy I have my feeder only throwing 3 seconds I don't know is it bad for them to eat when it's cold.is having a slower metabolism bad for them to feed And has anyone else put tiger bass in there pond they look a lot like spotted bass to me they were to small for me to be able to feel their tongue

I just read a post a couple days ago that said feeding pellets in cold water is a bad idea. Since the metabolism is so slow, the pellets can sit in the stomach for a long time and cause bloating. I guess the question is what is cold water? 50 or less?

I have my feeder still going at 10 seconds with AM600. (I'm about 45 miles north of Houston).

I'm in Louisiana and I just don't know if it's bad for them to eat when its cold? If you have a local hatchery you use, a quick call to their biologist might answer your question. Edit: I asked a biologist at my hatchery earlier this fall when I should stop feeding. His reply was, "When you see the feeding activity significantly drop off."
