Took me several hours. All of these tire structures are in 5 ft. of would be water. By total chance look at one of the photos and the tires took on the shape of a heart. The photo where the young man is standing is where our 28 ft. pontoon boat is going for our dock. It will parallel the shore. Also this Halloween night looks like Batman showed up to inspect the work!!! My 9 year old grandson. Im taking him trick or treating tonight and to some haunted houses. Hope you enjoy the photos. Happy Halloween!!!
Dear Alcohol, We had a deal where you would make me funnier, smarter, and a better dancer... I saw the video... We need to talk.
Flame, If you have not holed those tires it is time to do it before the water gets there. You need a good strong bladed knife , cut a 2-3 inch hole in the top part of each sidewall. Put it as near the tread line on the standing up ones and in the middle of the sidewalls of the laying down ones. It doesn't take much trapped air to float those tires. I know from personal experience. Don't try to hole the tread surface because the steel belting will make it a really tough job. Good luck. Tom Sterling (Shelby County)
Thanks Tom for the advise. I did hole every one of them on the trailer before I put them in the pond. I used a hole saw in my Dewalt 18 volt drill. Worked great. Only had to recharge the battery twice. That was over 60 tires!! I started my artificial trees today and hope to complete them tomorrow. I will upload some photos of my trees when completed. We just took the grandson on a midnight Halloween ride in the golf cart around the pond and down some wooded passages. Scared him pretty good but he had a lot of fun.

I scattered my structure out like you have done. Knowing what I know now, I would put them in "clusters". Several tire trees in close proximity in a "grove" like setting. Instead of widely scattered around.
Might make fishing the structure clusters easier and more productive.
SNRUB, Each one is in 5 ft of water. I can drive or walk all the way around the pond to fish.I bass fished professionally for 15 years and I like a challenge.I will also have a boat to fish from when needed.Bass tend to get a personality like humans. Some will be at all depths of water and hang out at different locations. I want to be able to "fish" and not just "catch". I will have plenty of cover in front of my pontoon boat and in a couple of other easy acess spots for my grandkids.I forgot, I did put a couple of deeper hiways of tires down to the pvc pipe in 13 ft. of water.Looks like this Wendsday we have a 70% chance of heavy rains. Better go buy me a fish!!

Sounds like you have had about ten thousand percent more fishing experience than me and sounds like you have it the way you want it. That is the most important part.
Things have really come together for you and I'm happy to see your plan is working out the way you wanted it.
Remember to add pictures after it fills so we see what the end result looks like.
I wondered that a time or two in my pond this summer. Where did all the nice BG go???? I could see and catch some smaller ones but really started to wonder if my nice fish had died off or something. Couldn't catch a LMB for nothing.
Then this fall the bites started coming again and the last few weeks have been a ball. Been able to get good samples of how the fish are progressing.
