You are gonna enjoy it when it gets full. We sure like ours which is out behind our house.

I can tell your dog already enjoys it (picture previous page). I cleaned out my sons old pond which had went completely dry because of age and a dam breach many years ago. Son has a big dog named "Woody". Every time they go anywhere near the pond now that it is a pond with water again, Woody is in it. He loves the pond.

Looks like you're about to have a fishin hole.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

I kinda like that idea. Are there harmful chemicals from the roofing shingles that leech out into the pond water?

Some shingles have algae inhibitors in them, but I think that the amount washed into the pond vs. how many gallons of water are in a pond is a moot point.

Great looking place. Good luck with the water hold and hopefully a artisan well to boot! Thanks for all the pictures. I may have missed it, but how deep will it be at pool? the boulders are a real nice touch I have not done just yet.

The DEP agent was the one who suggested picking up the down spouts and said it was "good" water.

Full pool depth will be 16' I figure it's about 1/3 full now though with 8' of water in it. It really widens out a lot as it gets fuller.

Set two of the old telephone poles that will be dock posts. You can see the water has cleared up a lot. As soon as ground dries a little more I will put in the other supports and plant all of these cypress trees along the property line.

Planted all the Leyland Cyprus trees and water now up and over the root balls that are in the middle.

Put 100# of rainbow trout in a few weeks ago. Now I can go catch dinner all winter long. Plan to catch them all out for the initial spring stocking.
