Hi, I'm considering applying bentonite to a leaking pond. The pond is about 1.5 to 2 acres, with the deepest water about 12 feet. I have a very good population of bass, channel cat, blue gill, redear, and minnows in the pond.

The pond holds water pretty good up to a certain level, but when I pump water into it to make it fuller, it begins to leak a rates of 6 inches per day until it gets backa to the level that it holds at.

I wouldn't even want to think about losing my fish, and I've read that bentonite can be applied on to the surface of water and still work. Do you guys have any experience with this?

From the experiences that I remember guys talking about here, I don't remember EVER hearing about a bentonite "fix" lasting more than a year when applied that way, if for that long.

From what I know, all the applications are supposed to be incorporated into the soil, then compacted.
