or Amazon. Anybody know why?
I can get it from another supplier but like the convenience of using PayPal on Ebay. I despise using Credit Cards for various reasons.
Anybody know?
I use it to quickly euthanize my trophy size brook trout I will be harvesting by hook and line in October. They are sold to taxidermists. Some of this is added to a cooler of water where the fish is placed. It doesn't take much for them to go belly up and be ready for the freezer. (More than the amount used for an anesthetic.)
I've tried other anesthetics but this works the fastest and most humanely. I can't have the fish trashing in the cooler and damaging fins etc.
Edit: Found my answer: Finquel has gone out of business. However tricaine is still available.

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Cecil -- I was in a workshop several years ago where a biologist said he euthanized fish using a small spray bottle filled with cheap vodka. He said it just has to get to the gills, whether through the mouth or from behind the gill flaps. I've never tried it with a fish, so I can't verify if it really works. Maybe that is where the term "sloshed to the gills" comes from. Ken

Ken,
Thanks but my guess is there would be a violent response as when using borax, or clorox in the water. That's somerthing I don't need or feel is humane.. If I ever have some vodka handy i may try it though. Not something we keep around though.
Broke down and ordered 100 gms. of tricaine from a koi pond supplier. Was able to use Pay Pal so I'm happy about that.

like the convenience of using PayPal on Ebay. I despise using Credit Cards for various reasons. Me too Cecil. In fact sometimes I search on Google for certain products and for example will type in the search "Nike socks PayPaL" so it will bring up stores that sell Nike socks and have PayPaL as a payment option. PayPal saves so many steps. I love it.
Fishing has never been about the fish....
