It was beautiful here today. North wind blowing for the first time this year. Put a beautiful chop on the water. My pond looked great so I snapped a few pics. Yes this is my back yard. This is what I see from the bedroom window when I wake up in the morning. I just finished this pond about 5-6 months ago. This is half of it. It's coming along nicely. I'll be happy when it grows in a little.

Wow, that is beautiful, Jason!
What you have there will bring you and your family years of so many levels of enjoyment!
And when you're scratching your head with the trials and tribulations of pond management, step back and look again at what you have.
Congratulations!

Thanks fellas. Stocked with fathead minnows, native minnows, crawfish, F1 Tiger bass, a few blue catfish, coppernose bream, and red ear bream. Couldn't get a good shot of the other side really. Im standing in too many shadows. This pond is deep. Probably average 12 feet deep with places that go 16 feet down.

Beautiful place, beautiful pond! Is it full of water, or will it still grow larger? If so, how much more?
Is that the natural color of the water, or did you put a bit of dye in it?

Neat place. I'd forgotten what a full pond looked like.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Neat place. I'd forgotten what a full pond looked like. It has its own well. I'm able to control water levels. My water well is a beast. It will dump about 120-130 gallons per minute according to the math and a 5 gallon bucket fill. The water table is high where I am. We timed it and it takes 2.5 seconds or so to fill a 5 gallon bucket. I mean it fills a 5 gallon bucket in a flash. I have a good high water table. Ponds look more pretty when they're high and full, I think. But then , the pond is in the heart of hurricane country so you have to be careful how high you keep it this time of year. Even though I have a discharge that runs out to the drainage ditches, well.......if the ditches fill up , it does no good. I also have aeration, I'm using a 1/2 horsepower, oiless, dual piston pump and three dual platform diffusers. When hurricane season is over, I can keep it as high as I want, without worry. Thanks for all your replies.
