Good morning everyone, can anyone tell me if this is maidencane? That's the best ID I can come up with after looking at TAMU and various other sites. The stands are 6-7 ft high and growth stops where the full pool water depth is around 3 ft give or take. http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah29...zps6hmph9ut.jpg The pond is between 3 and 4 acres and is around 70 years old according to the neighbors. Definitely have some work to do after the house is finished - lots of muck and shoreline vegetation to get under control.

I think you are correct. That'll take a lot of work to remove it and you'll have to stay vigilant with the sprayer to keep it from coming back.

I was afraid of that. I've started treating with Hi Yield Kill-Zall (54% Glyphosate) with Plex Mate surfactant and had some success, but there is a BUNCH of it. Slowly but surely I guess!

That is not maidencane. It looks more like cutgrass to me. Maidencane is branched like torpedograss. It should be easy to identify with the inflorscences (flower/seeds). Take a look at this: http://plants.ifas.ufl.edu/node/641Maidencane grows more "in" the water and what you show grows more to the water's edge and "on top" of the water. You should get better results with what you're using when the plant starts to die back and pushing carbohydrates to the roots. The glyphosate will be taken there too and result in better control.
