Both of our kids are into collecting and playing the game "Magic the Gathering" with their friends and cousins.....no online playing allowed, however. I recently ordered some cards for them online, and the next day my PondBoss sidebar had an ad featuring an armor wearing, sword wielding, scantily clad female combatant.

Games have changed a lot since I was a kid.

"Forget pounds and ounces, I'm figuring displacement!"

If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1)
And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1)
Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT?
PB answer: It depends.

You should try some of the peanut butter cookies they make at a local bakery. They do have peanuts in them and are quite moist, but drizzle some honey on them...

Peanuts aren't objectionable, I'm not a fan of almonds, walnuts, etc. in cookies (or candy bars for that matter). I don't like pistachos in ice cream, but will eat them by themselves. Same for the other nuts too. (yeah, I'm weird)

I guess we would starve if we were critters relying on this. Meat market down the road has got the Brat thing figured out quite well. I'm waiting for Fricanos to open to get a couple pizzas.

"Ad Sense" is based on browser habits and statistical human traits. Some are of sites people visit and some are guesses of the pimple face tech nerd at Google thinks you might like...for a better way of putting it...they go fishing with ads that have no "ad sense" based on your personal habits. Google is getting a lot of crap for this behavior but the stock keeps rising and they keep making more money.

The best browsers for stopping this are Apple based products such as Safari and even Firefox.

Chrome is a google product. Duh

Cheers,

Thanks Dogloyalty,

Good to know someone is knowledgeable enough to know that there is more to the ads than the self proclaimed computer experts that say,"Don't want certain ad's showing up, then don't visit those sites."

Yeah Mods I know I'm supposed to ignore Phil's (JKB) insulting posts, but I don't go to porn sites, and I find it very insulting to have some insinuate that. If I don't defend myself who will?

I can remember when the so called computer armchair experts said the reason people receive spam is because they troll porn sites. I think we all know that's not the case.

Thanks Cecil,

Here are a couple examples:
Chrome tonight. http://www.tazool.com/Chrome1.png
Safari tonight. http://www.tazool.com/Safari1.png

I bought all of the listed Chrome ad items from Leerburg for my dog in the last 30 days.

I have not bought any cars like in the Safari screenshot in over a year. And the last one I bought was a Chevy Silvarado, it wasn't a Hyundai.

Just info for the Gen pub. I have run a computer with no anti-virus for over 7 years using only Safari.

Lastly, the next pic is of some company I have never heard of or want to know of from Chrome http://www.tazool.com/Chrome2.png

Ad Block Plus is one of my favorites. It allows me to block stuff when I am being the "real me" and not block when I am being "company man".

It is definitely worth a small donation each year.

You don't actually have to visit specific types of sites in the age of artificial intelligence. Inferences are drawn and suppositions made about people.

I have never visited a video game site but get a lot of ads. WHY?

I have never looked up any Viagra ad or sales sites but get the ads for that and Cialis. I figure AARP or somebody sold my information(age) and the AI software figures that I need some marketing info.

Why I get pics of middle aged women living around my area needing a date; I'm not sure about.

Needing to visit the sites to get ads is now 100% wrong.

Thanks Dave!

I think I'm seeing a pattern. I just came from the CNN web page and the the racy ad was back up. Haven't seen it in several days. I go back and forth from here to news at times.

Well, I don't know much about the industry anymore. But, this evening I got ads for Kohler toilets, Preparation-H, lawn aerators, and saving 90% on my grocery bill.

I guess if I get the wrong groceries at discount, I may need a lawn aerator before I try to use my new Kohler toilet. Then I'll need the Prep-H!

cry

In any case, I have not recently been searching for anything in these categories.

I was getting a few adds. Then I downloaded a program for making photo college. Then I started getting adds blinking on screen every minute and some I couldn't get rid of except for rebooting. Finally I did a backup and restore to go back in time and that took care of most of the problem adds. I still get picture frame adds but that doesn't bother me.

Bob, I'm getting one about cheating for men over 40. Interesting looking bimbo in the ad. I'm not about to click on it.

Ken, if I clicked on that ad, there is no doubt in my mind that my Wife would catch me.

Cecil, you know I'm trailer trash and can't even afford ta buy fatheads. On the other hand, the floozie in that pic does appear as inexpensive.

Bob,

I don't consider you trailer trash no matter what you live in. "Trailer Trash" is as state of mind not what you live in. You're a very rich man in many other ways as far as I'm concerned.

If it makes you feel better Rockford lived in this remember? grin

The wife and I recently started watching the Rockford Files series on Netflix. It brings back memories and good chuckle now and then when we see the technology then and how things have changes. If you like car chases every episode has at least one and Garner did a lot of his own stunt driving. Remember?

RIP James Garner you were a class act!

I always thought James Garner was a better actor then he was given credit for. Especially in later years like the Rockford Files. If you just turned off the sound and watched his face and his movements you could see just how good he was. Besides being a Korean veteran I thought he was just about the best looking man to ever make films.

A little known tidbit is that he wrote Ronald Reagans speeches when the Prez was the head of the Screen Actors Guild. Sharp guy. And not one scandal during his career. Classy Guy too.

Hey Bob, I call the trailer on my place my Poor White Trash Trailer House.
