Well, I got a well... Free flowing Florida aquifer water.. Should keep my new forage/etc pond full and warm during the winter.. Plus any other fishy projects I might come up with..
I still have the shallow water well with the electric pump too in case the farmers get greedy and steel all the head pressure.

I could add an irrigation pump and increase 1,000 time prob. But I have no need for all that and don't want electric bill...

Cool well. Never imagined getting water from a well and not having to pump it!

What are you going to do to the pond after draining it?

I have owned two wells like that in Va. but both stopped shooting out the top after a few years. Since they had a pump it did not matter but was awesome to water it shoot out of the ground.

Nuke it and restock with assorted forage fish for now.

I'll try golden redbreast sunfish

I got the free flowing well trenched to the pond and I now have a nearly full forage pond with no fish in it. I turned the spout at an angle and it seems to give a slight circular current action to the pond.

I'll stock some Rosy reds and some golden/orange colored sail fin mollies in the next day or so. I want to make sure all the nuclear residue is all gone first.

Wondering if you had some height, if you could have incorporated some type of water feature going into the pond?

I havent updated any thing in this pond really since I restarted..

The mollies and Rosey reds are spawning opretty good so far this summer.

I stocked 4 LCS recently.

Yesterday I had on my mask and snorkel as I was placing a water lily . I took the time to look around a it and I was absolutly amazed at how many grass shrimp I saw. They covered every surface. The entire pond looked like the holding tank that petsmart keeps the feeder shrimp in. When I stock the Golden Redbreast Sunfish in this fall they will have lots of shrimp eat...
