I cleaned out two diamond backed water snakes and a small cotton mouth out of my big pond last month. The big diamond backed water snake measured 49" when stretched out. last year I killed one that was nearly 5' and full of small BG. and for you snake lovers, I killed this pair right behind my shop a few years back: and these two a few weeks prior: (large one was a cotton mouth) as far as king/garter/ribbon/rat/chicken snakes go, they are left alone. If chicken or rat snakes are too close to the house I will give them a lift out to the woods or pasture.

How do you like the pistol grip? Same as my wheel gun, but in .44 Mag and 9.5" SS Dress. I think it works great!, but you may get some other opinions.

They used the wood insert rubber grips on the earlier GP100 and the Hogue grips on the later ones. I picked this one up lightly used for $300 a few years back. It is chambered in .357mag and it had such a heavy ring in the cylinder that it wouldn't chamber a .357 which leads me to believe it was used exclusively for .38spl. I purchased it as a woods gun for dragging through the rain and mud when working on the property. I have hand load that I make just for small pests and snakes. I place a cardboard wad over the powder, fill with #9 shot the seat and crimp a 000 buckshot ball on top. Since the 000 buck is .350" I have a special tool I made for my press to flatten and swage the ball to .358" with a slight point on the tip. The loads work great on snakes, armadillo, opossum and beavers.
