Here are a few pics of the trout we put in mid December. They were all about 1 lb in December. It has been a very good spring to catch these guys!

so this was caught tonight. I really thought all my trout were gone due to the 95+ temp days. It is crazy to have trout and tilapia in the same pond at the same time! 18.5 inch didn't have scale. drp

How deep is your pond ? Will the trout hold over during the summer months ?

Thanks for the posting, I live close to you Dustin, I may have to see if they are still kicking. They had access to feed all winter but I never saw them feed. I wonder what I was doing wrong. I managed to catch one about 13inch all year on a live worm.
Get out and fish.

My pond is 27 feet deep when full, but is only 18 feet at this time.
I have aeration running, so i dont think cooler water will stay on the bottom, from my understanding....
Jakeb,
I was very disappointed with the trout until march, when one hammered a bass worm, i stated working them over with panther martins and power bait and both were successful. I never saw them feed until spring time. Now they come up like sharks and basically scoop up pellets like a vacuum cleaner.
I will put them in again as it has been a very fun spring not knowing if you are going to catch a bass, HSB, or trout!

So this bad boy was right under 3 lbs. I simply cannot believe the growth rate of these things! When Overton stocked them, they were all about 3/4 to 1 lb each. This fish had a 1 inch by 4 inch roll of undigested aquamax in is stomach. If i extrapilate that out over the winter season, he could be one of the most expensive fish i have! drp

Rainbow trout fed Aquamax all through the cool max can really pack it on. My friend stocked 10"-12" rainbows in early November and many ar going over 20" and pushing 4 pounds. They love their Aquamax!

Dustin, do you have many predators, like some large LMB in the pond also?

Jakeb,
I have HSB and LMB, both the initial stocking of tiger bass, plus some genetics from Camelot bell bass.
