Finally got dry enough weather and some free time to get some sunflowers (Dove Hunt) and corn (For deer) planted, Hoping this and my clover plots keep the deer off my newly planted trees. (I know....Fat chance)

Hey R&R, didn't know that you borrowed my tractor smile
Had to look twice at that one.
It's been nothing but dry here. 1/2" in over a months time...

Nice planter too! They want an arm and both legs for those up here.

It's been so dry that the clover is starting to curl up.....

Hi, Patrick. I planted those the last week of April last year. I'm not sure when they dried out but they were in great shape come dove opener. Probably could have even waited a week or even two. But that was definitely one of my more successful adventures for a first time.

This picture was taken July the 19th.

GOOD LUCK and keep us posted.

I'm going to star planting my sunflowers and millit as soom as it dries up here in Kansas but no sure of the layout. I have a 1.3 acre field about 165 yards by 40 yards my question is should I plant my sunflowers and millit in to long strips runing the length of the field 165 by 20 or in to blocks more less 80 by 40 yards my idea is to mow the millit and hunt over the millit then cut the sunflowers later in the season. Any advise would be appreciated thank you
