These aren't new though. I've already had them collect on downrigger lines at least a decade ago in Lake Michigan.
The invasives will just keep coming in ship ballast water.
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

I hate them, a real pain when you are fighting a 20 pound Chinook and can't pickup line because they have clogged up the eyelets of the rod
