Have 3 acre lake in north east Texas, turning it into a trophy bass lake. Biologist told me to put 3 to 5 thousand cnbg in pond. Also told me to put threadfin shad in 1000 per acre. Is lake to small for the threadfins?

Please give more detail about the lake.
Is it new?
Does it currently have any fish?
To directly answer, it's not too small for threadfins. There are some risks, especially for winterkill. But, they can thrive in a small body of water.

Hey Bob, lake is 25 years old. put blue cats in it 10 years ago and they have eaten everything in the pond. Am going to catch the cats and restock the pond with the intention of growing LMB.

Oh yeah, lake is 16 feet. Average 7 feet. Flooded timber and lilly pads.

Steve, good luck with your plans. Sounds like you have a set goal in mind, and I hope you reach it.
I'm more in the tilapia camp than the threadfin shad camp because of the total ROI, but the TS are appealing if the conditions are right. I've had several biologists not recommend TS to me, and I'm about 40 miles north of you. Water conditions do have a lot to do with it though.
I would think the blue cats could really be an issue with your plans. They're eating machines.
