Eurasain milfoil was introduced probably last summer to a local pond of ours. This is a 14 acre pond with around 2 surface acres of infestation. This pond is surrounded with a variety of ornamental plants in and around the water, mainly irises and itea in the water with some grasses mixed in spots.

I tried a 2% solution of Renovate 3 with a lousy spot sprayer 2 weeks ago with minimal results. Results were minimal because triclopyr concentrations were probably way low and a north breeze may have helped direct the chemical out of the target zone. This pond is not used for irrigation.

Should I try granular OTF Renovate? Any experience out there with Renovate from SePro. Any other chemicals worth trying too. I chose Renovate because of our extensive alligator weed problem and recent success killing it.

Thanks in advance for any help and guidance.

Ray, this link shows some other herbicides that you can use. I dont have any experience with any of them though. Somebody else can probably recommend something for your situation.

Eurasian Milfoil is very susceptable to Navigate, a 2 acre infestation should be easy to treat.

Hey Ray,
I have an infestation of eurasia milfoil also and have had some sucess with the product called Navigate as Shorty has mentioned already. It has been alomost 3 weeks since I applied it and am noticing a significate die off of the milfoil weed. This stuff looks like kitty litter and comes in a 50 lb bag. I use a seed spreader that hangs off of my neck. The type with an organ grinder handle on the side. Get a buddy out there in a row boat and stand up in the back end and spread this stuff out. They recommend about 100 lbs per acre and you can find it for about $150. There are some retailers that really try to sockit to ya so shop around. Hope this helps.

Have a day that you truly deserve!

Thanks for the comments. I will try both Renovate OTF and Navigate.
