This past spring my family and I added on to 1.5 acre spring fed lake. We cut the damn down 4 feet in order to drain the old pond and begin work on the new one. The two ponds have yet to join and will take another 4-5 feet of fill up before they are connected. The new part is 3 acres and has as much as 12 foot of water in some places. I stocked it with minnows three times this past summer and it looks like you could walk across the waters on minnows. The old pond has a very good population of bass and bluegill. A small population of crappie and catfish. I'm looking to stock the new pond with red ear and yellow perch. How many should I stock? Will the yellow perch do ok in spring fed pond in Southeast Missouri? I'm looking for recommendations for fish suppliers in Southeast MO and southwest IL. Thanks in advance...

Will they stay separate or do you plan to connect them?

The ponds will eventually form one 4.5 acre spring fed pond with a max depth of 22 feet and average depth around 14-15. Please help with advice on where to purchase fish in southeast missouri and southwest illinois.
Thanks Very Much

The large mouth bass in the old pond are full grown. It is over 30 years old and I've seen 5 lber caught. It will take atleast to till next spring to join together. I know I'm going to have to stock it bigger size red ear and yellow perch. Just wandering what the best place to get both of these fish are. The minnow population is amazing right now.

Can't go wrong with either, both awesome guys and I've personally done plenty of business with both. Proceed with confidence.
