I don't know about that. You've grown some incredibly obese fish too.

That's a beautiful RES.
Is it just me or does he look pissed?

Omaha or the fish?

I only ask because Omaha, being the Narcoleptic that he is, used to have trouble keeping his eyes open when getting photographed.

Now, he seems to have adopted this hyper-serious, retro-active/inquisitive-reflective look.

Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:"
"She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."

The fish.
Omaha does look alert, and, although he's holding both HBG by the mouth, I notice he's got the RES firmly by the belly, fingers away from jaws.
Which is a good thing, because it can be hard to explain to your wife how a visit to a sick friend at the hospital resulted in the loss of a digit.

I've seen JHAP's pic and I'm not taking the chance that it's "photoshopped". Redears are mean, in the water and out.

I was drowsy when the day started. I don't sleep much. Being at Bruce's has a way of perking a guy up though.

That second hybrid, the super round one, was kind of an accident. Bruce was scooting the boat into some vegetation for a friend of ours with a fly rod. I was just killing time finding weed free water to drop my jig. Did not expect that to find it.

Who is El Gutbombo in the background? My Spanish friend?

The fish are eating so well at my pond I can't hardly get a bite.. Even with stubby Steve's I think I'm gonna let the feeders run dry then wait a couple weeks to refill to see how the bite picks back up..

I believe in catch and release. I catch then release to the grease..

My cousin came over yesterday to teach me how to cast a fly-rod. We had 30+ mph winds and he taught me on what he said was a crappy set-up, saying if you can get the hang of it on this rod and dirty line, you got it made.

Well, I caught his truck twice, the dock a few times and a few up in the tree. He left me the fly-rod to practice with so later that evening when the winds died down, I went back out.

First cast caught a BG and followed with 7 more. I am TOTALLY hooked! (pun intended). Went to the tackle shop today and loaded up on flies!

What a great week, I became a first-time Grandpa on Monday and learned how to fly-fish.

Lovin Livin!

That fish looks like it'll be a brute some day, round dinner plate qualities and a solid helmet head already.. Hard too tell but looks like a female..

Oh and congrats on the granpappy status.

BGK, look at the scales above the fish's head, right behind the "helmet". If they're black tipped, it's should be a male.

One of TJ's babies. A personal best wiper for me at nearly 27" and estimated by Greg Grimes to be pushing 13 pounds.

Can't wait to hear what Sunil has to say about my facial expression.
