It might be a bumpy night. So far the storms here at the house haven't been bad, but we did get 1 1/8" of rain in 40 minutes. There was a funnel cloud spotted about 10 miles to the South of me. From initial reports, it didn't touch down. They are calling for 2"-5" of rain with the possibility of even more before the storms blow thru tomorrow morning.

Pond was 26" low this afternoon. We'll see!

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

We had a nice storm that dumped a good amount of rain including some pea sized hail and it hasn't rained for the last 2 hours since. Now I see more storms are approaching from your direction.

Radar looks plumb nasty for you fellows up there......hope you get the rain you need. Be safe!

"Forget pounds and ounces, I'm figuring displacement!"

If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1)
And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1)
Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT?
PB answer: It depends.

Inch hail and high straight line winds going through north of me right now... I guess Kankakee is getting hammered.. Button down the hatches and keep your eyes and ears open... Reports are no time to get to safety.. No warnings, just micro burst and straight line winds up to 100+ mph..

Does that mean night fishing in the boat is out? Always wanted to surf sitting down.

Normally I don't get too concerned about the hype from local media. But, I went into town (Winchester, VA) this afternoon. There were long parades of out-of-state power company and tree trimming crews heading in as I was making the 20-mile trip home. Those truck parades are never a good omen.

I moved to Google's Picasa a number years ago. It too makes "improvements" that drive me crazier than my regular status, I still find it easier to use than PhotoBucket.

Tried posting a pick of the new pedal boat, not a big deal just kinda fit my comment... The links now have a "see more at" before the link and I can't figure out how to embed pics...

They have honestly made more changes in the last 6 months than they have on the last 5 years...

Mike:

You probably had an inch more of rain than I did. The ran gauge said 2.5" this morning, but the majority of that fell in less than 2 hrs. last night. Mom & Dad, 7 miles East of me had 3 1/2". Pond is sitting at 43 3/4", still roughly 20" below full pool. RES and BG went off the beds due to the storm. No high winds here.
