This snake was found near my home in Grand Prairie. I don't care for snakes, but this was very pretty. It was helped out the yard and send on its way. Thanks!

I have never seen that kind of snake before. It is beautiful. I bet it is very hard to see in wild. The camo is really good.

I did an image search for Corn and King snakes and didn't readily see a clear match.

Looks very similar, general pattern-wise, that is.

Sunil ...even-though he may be one of the "good guys",
I wouldn't wanna wake up & feel him inside my sleeping bag!

Well, I have looked at a lot of pictures, but nothing really matches. My best guess was a specked king snake, but it just doesn't really look right. My first thought was the old line "red & yellow, kill a fellow", but this obviously isn't a coral snake. I suspect the collective wisdom of the Pond Bosses will supply the correct answer.

Florida King Snake. My son had one as a pet for about 15 years. I got it for him when he was 5 to get him over a fear of snakes. It was 10" long. It stopped growing at 4'-8". Very tame and friendly snake. Markings exactly the same but yours has slightly more black. He lost his fear of snakes the first week, then I learned they live over 20 years.

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

I haven't seen one of those in years. I used to have a lot of them.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color. Without a sense of urgency, Nothing ever gets done. Boy, if I say "sic em", you'd better look for something to bite. Sam Shelley Rancher and Farmer Muleshoe Texas 1892-1985 RIP
