This stuff?
It just popped up this year, never saw any of it in the past. Someone told me duckweed, but I wouldn't have the foggiest.

The white circles are to help spot the bluegill which seem very small this year, usually they are over hand sized, these guys are itty bitty, but dart all in and out this green stuff.

It's a little hard to tell from the photos, any possiblitly of pulling up some samples out of the water and taking some close up pictures? It looks as though you have several types of weeds, maybe stonewart/chara in the bottom photo, and maybe coontail and another type of weed in the top photo.

Ripetide - underwater photos of pond weeds are just about useless for an accurate identification. Often, even a close up photo of the weeds out of the water is not enough for someone to examine all the necessary characters to identify some of the more difficult water weeds. As suggested try another photo of the weeds out of the water in your hand and maybe place them in a white pan with a little water so the weed leaves appear more natural rather than clumped together.

Can we safely state that it's definitely not duckweed?

Yup, no duckweeds, as in the Lemna floating aquatic plant varieties. The image might be indicating any of the submerged aquatics, blanketweed even...

Guys, It looks like filamentatious algae clustering around under water structure in the shallow water to me. We have had it this year. If you reach in with net or your hands and it all clings together as you try to scoop it out I would bet that is what it is.
