Ok, I've only read this several hundred times but which tie strap hold up best when exposed to the sun? Thanks in advance.

Don't assume that all black zip ties are UV Stabilized. Make sure they are rated that way. They usually are black because they use carbon black as the UV stabilizer. Here are some colored ones: T&B
