Today is my birthday. One of the big ones. I didn't want a big event. Then I got sick. Went home early yesterday. Woke up feeling crummy today. Got feeling better. Got ready for work. Took temp. Had slight fever. Wife (physician) said i was likely infectious. I shouldn't be near people. Good enough for me. I called in sick. Did some stuff around the house. It is rare to have even fifteen minutes totally to do whatever I like. I had about three hours. I worked on fish feeder and went fishing. Caught a 5 pound lmb on first cast. I actually saw it hit the lure. Caught so many lmb and bg that I lost track also roughed up my thumb pretty badly from lipping them. When I showed and explained my injury to my wife (who likes to fish) when she got home from work, she said i needed to clean and bandage it; but wasn't very sympathetic. Are your spouses very sympathetic to your injuries incurred conducting fish analysis and other demanding work like that?

Happy Birthday. One time I caught so many white bass in Oklahoma my hand kinked up for a week. My wife didn't show no sympathy.

Once we were on a trip to Lake Murray (near Ardmore, OK or a hour away from Lake Texoma) with every in the family attending. Three of us (myself, my father and his buddy) decided we want to take the boat to Lake Texoma to do some sand bass and striper fishing. Well in August, they like to surface and it is some of the most fun fishing one can do or at least in my opinion. The fishing was so good that we were just unhooking fish as soon as we caught them and just throwing them in the boat to continue to catch fish. With the stripers and sand bass surfacing, it may last 5 minutes or 20 minutes. At 3 pm, we got a phone call to come back to Lake Murray so they could go out for the evening in the boat. They didn't appreciate how dirty and bloody we got the boat. They were almost mad at us.

Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday, my wife goes fishing with me but doesn't fish. However she is glad when I can go whether I catch them or not.

Jeff, my Wife used to give me that kind of stuff but either I have trained her or she has given up.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

I'm just glad you're posting a bit more now, Jeff! Happy Birthday!

In this home it is the husband that shows so little sympathy for the wifes' fishing injuries and the day to day stresses of evaluating and maintaining the proper balance for a healthy fishery. Although he does indulge me! Happy Birthday Rangersedge.
