I am a new owner of .1 acre pond and I've done a lot of reading and leaning and this is my very first post here on PB.

I am in central Ohio and I caught this little over achiever last night. Would this fish be from this years spawn?

Thanks!

Wow! That might be some sort of world record. Did you cast it back out and use it for bait?

Epic titan! on a miniature level. Perfect as live bait.

Welcome Dave, that would be a runt from last year. I wish I had that much trouble gaining weight.

Hopefully that is one of the runts from last year, but in a food short pond (too many fish) that could be the average size of last years bass which is a sign of over crowding and lack of predation or too much cover?. Bass do eat bass.

I do seem to have quite a few 10-12 inch bass. The bluegills do not appear to be over crowded and stunted. They average 6-7 inches and we have caught one that was about 11.

I just bought the property so I have no idea what is in the pond.
