Do we have any recent discussions going anywhere on the sealants DB110, DB200, or ESS-13 or other sealants besides bentonite and clay ??

The most recent ones that I could find were 2009 and 20011. I found them by doing a Google search using the terms "Pond Boss ess-13"

I have a pond that is leaking and I was also curious about ess-13. I have exchanged a few emails with a company about ess-13. They recommended a half to full 55 gallon drum. I have been doing as much research as possible to see what the results are.

Got my quote back for ess-13. Apparently I need (2) 55 gallon drums now. with shipping it comes about to be $2300 dollars.

I called for my quarter acre pond last year and they quoted me $6000 plus shipping and said it would kill all my fish. Drained and started over.

I haven't heard of much success with sealing products like bentonite, db 110
Db200 I would like to hear from someone that has had long term success with db-100 as I would like to try it since its so cheep .
I'm going to give my pond one more season I'd it doesn't fill I'm draining it , re-excavating it and compacting the hell out of it !!

I recently used db200 as an additive to my ponds. The builder did not compact the soil well enough so I pulled out the rip rap and relaid the clay. My clay or clayey soil is okay for ponds so I decided to add the db200 as an extra help.

Since the builder had already laid rip rap over the entire pond bottom and banks, we removed as much as possible but felt going with a 2 layer approach would work best.

The fishing pond is 1 acre so I put down a layer of db200 (four 40 lbs pails) which is on the high end of application but I do not want or did not want to have to do this again. We added layers of clay about a foot and rolled the layers then added 2 more pails of db200 and rolled again. I did this to the swimming pond and the forage ponds. Nothing but a liner is 100% but so far the ponds are doing well. The total cost for the db200 was $3000 but I used that to seal the fishing pond, swimming pond, forage pond and 2 frog ponds, about 2.25 acres total.

I did use a sheepsfoot and flatshell roller which is critical to sealing.

My ponds sit on top of the hill so very little watershed. Ponds rely on well water so I wanted to minimized lose if possible. So far very pleased with results.

I used 6 gallons of DB-100 that I bought around 2009 and several bags of kitty litter clay last week. I'll check it out in a few days to see if it did any good.

Zero help...water would have done as well. The rain this year is keeping up with the seepage however....the pond is staying full or close to full in 2013. I do have a creek about 200 yards away that I ran 2" PVC to underground about 5 years ago and I have pumped as much as 120,000 gallons per day on dry years during cooler weather (should have run 3" for less gas burn).
