Never seen a square pie, but if it is Blueberry, and with artery clogging toppings, I'm all in!

Simple way to think of circular area from any given size to another is:

If it's twice the diameter it would be 2x2=4, or 2^2, which equals 4 times the area.

3 times the diameter would be 3x3=9, or 3^2, which equals 9 times the area.

4 times the diameter would be 4x4=16, or 4^2, which equals 16 times the area.

The ^2 means that it is squared.

Every fractional size above the other is squared. 1.5 x the diameter is 1.5^2=2.25, which is 2.25 times the area.

See the pattern?

How about that square pie now? laugh

I was hoping that esshup would clean up his mess with the "pie are square" thing, but all he posted was a pic of a pie that looked like Apple. And we all know, that only Mothers and Grandmothers know the Magic to Apple Pies!!!

I'll just help him along with a graphic wink

When I get 2x4' at Lowes' and they ask me how many they are, I tell them I am a carpenter not a mathematician. You guys give me a headache.

Counting has been previously invented. Not sure it can be patented tho! Too many people use this these days, and the origins probably pre date engineers and lawyers, so we are pretty much screwed for making any claim as to absolute rights of knowing how many 2x4's you purchased at Lowes.

Make sure the gal at checkout with the bar code scanner didn't trip something twice, and always check your receipts before leaving the store.

I went to Home Depot once and asked for a 2x4 and the guy said "how long do you want it" and I said, "hell, man, I want to keep it"

Never heard of anyone making a pie out of pears.

Those come from your trees you planted?
