I was informed of this website by a customer. I have juvenile crawfish for sale to use as feeders for bass. They are $1 per lb if you pick up at the farm. You do not want to use crawfish if your pond has levees. I'm sure you all know crawfish will burrow and cause leaks forever.

Do you know what kind of crawfish they are?

I've heard some types like the paper-shell crawfish
are not near the problem that red-swamp crawfish are.

All crawfish ponds have levees - why wouldnt you put crawfish in ponds with larger levees?

In many areas, red swamp and rusty reds are considered aquatic invasive species, and are illegal to stock. So, I ask that anyone thinking about adding them to their ponds, or used for bait, should check their state's regulations.

Regards,
Ken

A crayfish is not the same as all crayfish, just as all humans and dogs are not the same - many different types and personalities. Some crayfish are best for raising for human consumption and some crayfish are better for raising in ponds for fish food. Do your homework and choose the best one for your goals.

SmithCreekFishFarm sells the less invasive paper-shell crawfish, but they are closed during the winter months being that they are in New York. I'm not sure, but I think they will ship the paper-shell crawfish anywhere. I may order a few paper-shell crawfish in the spring and see how they do and report back. They also sell snails and tadpoles. If anyone hears of a good supplier of decent size albino catfish I would really like to have a few in my pond as a novelty for kids, ect..

They will still burrow through larger levees and cause leaks.
