Did more studting of the pond situation this weekend and it is really appearing that the water that is running in the creek chanel behind the dam is comeing from around the stand pipe going through the dam. Its an orange rusty looking color. Has any one seen this before? I amsure yall have. It seems that I read some thime back that one of the draw backs to the corragated stad pipes through the dam is that they tend to leak around them. I do have 3 big antiseep collars around the pipe. But am not sure how much they really help. Yeah they help some as in there would be ALOT more seepage if they were not there. Any body have an opinion on this?

In response to the color of water you are seeing:
I was going to mention this in the other topic you have going, but did not want to go crazy with my length of explanation there. Ground springs in my area come out of the ground and alot of them have an orange color to it, and sometimes an oily look. This is from the minerals they are picking up and carrying out from underground. In my area that is iron, and thus an orange color. I would imagine that every area of the country has different mirerals that are washed out with springs. What is in your area, I have no clue.
If it is coming from the side of the pipe, then I would suspect the pipe itself. Perhaps someone here has a way to test the pipe to see if the leak is from the pipe? Could it have something due to the fact you tried openeing that pipe up -without success- and disturbed it, washing out some rust debris?

Well the seepage or spring has been doing this since I built the dam. As far as the seepage... goes ... how do I descirbe this....OK, If your at the back of the dam at the very very bottom where the creek channel is the is the orange rusty oily color water flow in this stream I could not guess to how much it is.... maybe I don't know...20 to 30 GMP?? Just a wild guess. Is it coming from the pond? Or, is it s spring??? Either way it needs to be addressed. I have seen this type of seepage, spring, what ever you call it on many many ponds and lakes, so this does NOT seem abnormal, BUT here is the thing. One, I have little flow of water coming in the lake. Two, I don't know when or if ever this drought will end in this area. So this amount of water spring or not has to be taken into serious consideration..
