George and I just rolled in from a "play day", after we were both told to get out of the house by our better half's. We hit both our places, and it was a fun day.

What was neat about this, other than the fellowship and a great lunch, was cussing and discussing our different, but same plans.

George convinced me to start a grow out pond from a unused pond that I had other plans for. Much like our East TX get together, new and different eyes really make pond ownership fun. We talked about water, habitat, forage, and even got a little fishing time in. And, don't believe for a minute that pond raised hybrid stripers can't thrive in the TX heat.

It was a great day, and here's a few pics..

George on "his" point.

What a day!
Having friends like Al and Brian picking me up and treating me to great pond field trips and fantatic fellowship.
I'm a lucky guy!

Al is just being modest showing photos of his ponds!
Below photos show his real "showplace" 11 acre LAKE:

You guys are gonna spoil that old goat.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

George is right Brian. We toasted you with our Ensure, as we discussed our early morning walks around the mall, and driving 60 in the passing lane. I'm still working on the leaving the blinker on for 10 miles, but I'll get it.

This retirement gig is top notch.

Mark, you got to get in this deal too.

All senior comedy aside, I thought a lot about yesterday and our get together last month.

I think what this all boils down to is sharing. We tend to focus on our own places, and forget that visiting other places gives us new ideas, better friends, and a local support group.

Mark, say you needed help with a pond project. I'd be happy to help, and learn something new along the way. When I start the solar aeration project, I've got do's and dont's that Brian's already been through.

Whether you've got a stock tank, or a 40 acre lake, sharing makes it better. Unfortunately, George and I can't show you the super secret senior handshake, but we'll be there if you need a helpful hand.
