If you are headed to your deer stand before sunup, and maybe a little bleary eyed, make sure you check things before you climb up.

We do not have bears where I live, but I have had to address 2-legged inhabitants (not birds). Wish there was a season on those!

Be careful what you wish for. This happened close to my old neighborhood.

My brother still lives just a few miles from where this tragic situation took place.

Ken, I remember that. I was up there hunting at the time. Meteor is about 100 miles from where we hunt.

The bears on our land in PA love to rip the climbing sticks off the trees, leaving the hang on stand 20 feet up with no way to get to them. I hope one gets stuck on one of my hang ons next week during bear season! It'll make for easy hunting! HAHA

I remember the incident mentioned above. The guy was plum loco, but I seem to remember that the guys started slinging racial insults at the guy. My wife worked hard for our property, and I'll be damned if tresspassers will be allowed to steal its recreational value from us. Maybe these will be my famous last words...

Scott,

I was up hunting on our land, with family, in Rhinelander when this happened. Made me sick to my stomach when I heard it on the news.

I killed by far my biggest buck in IL but not had a second sense to mention it here. I will try to post pics when back in GA.

Dang Greg, you did it with a stick and string. How much did that sucker weigh?

Nice buck Greg!

I've been wondering why I haven't been seeing any deer, then 3 of these guys show up today.

Greg that is a dandy buck right there - buck of a lifetime. Makes me almost ashamed to post this guy - took him on Monday right at noon.

Dlowrance your buck is a stud way to go. Dave pushing 300 lbs 5 or 6 yr old. Thanks for comments I never in the life of me thought I would get one that big. THe video kinda tells the story but passed three bucks bigger than any in my life earlier int he am but looks like I made the right choice. He is 171 3/8" A Gross Booner! I will post a pic in the other section.

BGK I meet Mike OReilly, via Nate of course, and we became hunting buddies. He has invited me up to hunt three times. I just wonder how Im going to top this next year, lol.

The deer you guys are putting on the ground are incredible. I would be tickled just to see an animal of those sizes while on bow stand, let alone shooting one that big.

I think I will now go back to "the kids table" where my hunting skills belong. laugh

Congrats to all!
