I am in the middle of trying to repair a leak in a 3 acre pond. I am looking for an excavator in this area that is reliable. I am located in the South central part of Kansas. Butler County to be exact. I have already used 3 different guys, tried 3 different methods of sealing and none of which work. Any responses would be appreciated.
Thanks, Matt

No, my pond still leaks bad. I have come up with a way to fill my pond and keep it full atleast during the rainy season. I backhoed a trench 150' yards to the edge of the pond from a nearby creek. I have had water flowing into the pond for several weeks. Unfortunatley it leaks out almost as fast as it is flowing in.
Do you know anyone in the area that may be able to stop by and take a look at it?
Thanks for responding to this, I look forward to hearing back from you
Matt

Matt,
call Pat Harms @ 777-0392 he is based in Mulvane but does pond work all over the state. I had Burdet construction build my pond 16 months ago and after 3 months of pumping water into it 24-7 I got it filled only to have it start leaking, I called Pat and he fixed the problem.

Not yet, we are playing phone tag. I hope to get him to meet me out there some time soon. My pond is completely full right now. Im sure the pond should be empty for him to get a good idea what needs to be done.
My whole pond project started off wrong now that I look back. We had a local dirt contractor get a hold of us about getting good black dirt for use around the country. We agreed and soon after that we had the spot picked out where they could take the dirt. So basically I got a free pond dug in exchange for good bottom land dirt. They got a little deep in one area, and hit gravel with some water.
So then we went in with 10,000 lbs of Bentonite, spent 3days discing and sheepfooting. Pond still leaks, I have pumped water out 3 or 4 times tried more bentonite, got plenty of advice from the "you outta" group. Nothing has worked. So hopefully Pat Harms will have the answer.
If anyone is in the Butler County Area, and would like to see the project just let me know, bring a pole, I caught 12 nice Bass last night in the creek that feeds the pond!
Until then
Matt

Matt,
See what Pat has to say. I would come and look at it if he can't get there, or second opinion.
I'm located in Burlington, Ks. I built a watershed out on taekowa*** rd west of tawanda and just south of 254.
Was there just too much gravel for the bentonite to seal? Sounds like you did things right, provided there was some moisture in the mixed material. Suprised it still leaks
