What color cumberbunds and bowties are us guys supposed to wear for the ice breaker and the banquet? I would prefer to just wear one pair of bib overalls for the week, so I want to make sure I'm properly color coordinated. I'm wearing a three piece suit each day and evening: jeans, t-shirt, shoes.

The Queen and I will soon depart for the hinterlands of the Show-Me state. Yes, there is a silent auction and I might remind all that 100% of the proceeds go to the Jesse West Endowment for fisheries research at SDSU. The SDSU students at the conference will manage the auction. I don't know what all has been donated, but I do know there are some cool things. Texas Hunter is donating a feeder. Bruce and Anne Kania are donating a blast and cast at their research farm in Montana. I've been there...more pheasants per unit of land than anywhere in the nation, and they're all wild birds. It's their management style. Fish Fry Lake is yielding some very nice yellow perch and hanging out with the Kania's is a refreshing experience itself. If anyone has items to donate, it's not too late. Call the office and talk to Sherrie. Stuff can be shipped to Big Cedar. Also, if you aren't coming to the conference and wish to bid at the silent auction, I expect we can text photos and take bids over the phone. If anyone is interested, say the word via pm and we'll hook it up. For those of you headed to Missouri, see you there! We've got a great event planned for all!

With all due respect you are departing Whitesboro Texas for Branson MO. Isn't that departing the hinterlands for the hinterlands? LOL Connie and I are leaving for Big Cedar first thing Wednesday AM. We will see you there.

Bing,if only you would open up a can of worms over this direction......Im locked and loaded.....
For those wondering:
Hinterland means a rural area surrounding the urban catchment of large cities or agglomerations. It is characterized by a less dense population and infrastructure.
Hinterland was from German, where it means literally "the land behind" (a city, a port, or similar),[1] with the English cognate hind land.[2] In English, the term was first used in 1888 by George Chisholm in his work Handbook of Commercial Geography.[3] In German this word sometimes also describes the part of a country where there are only a few people and where the infrastructure is underdeveloped; although Provinz (equal to "province") is more common. The direct analogy in English is "backcountry" or "the countryside".

You've just given n8ly about a week's worth of computer research to do, Ken.

Hopefully, Justin, or some other family member, will drive while N8ly is Googling on his smartphone! I reckon I can unequivocally state that every single Pond Boss member wants to see him and his phenomenal family get safely to-and-from the PB-V confabulation.

Hey guys. I have been more of a reader/lurker for quite some time now, but I finally joined the forum earlier this year. I still don't find enough time to post very much. Anyway, Wade B, as he goes by one the forum (the owner of our company), is not going to be able to make the conference, so he is sending me . I have met a couple of you before, but I look forward to meeting everyone else. Sounds like it will be a fun time.

I know it would be more work for the Pond Boss staff, but I wonder if it would be possible to get a count of how many states, Canadian provinces/territories, and countries are represented at the conference. If the registrations are available, I'd be glad to do the tabulation.

My presentation is finished. I got some really neat and very interesting close-up pictures of things that live in and along your pond. It will be educational and intertaining. You won't want to miss it.

Who uses power point anymore Any of this stuff gonna be available to the general population? Maybe you can package all this info up on one of those industrial looking, but very cute, USB gizmos.

Never having attended a conference, I have no idea what to expect. I'm hoping to meet as many as I can, anything else that occurs whether pond or fish related, will just be a bonus.
"Forget pounds and ounces, I'm figuring displacement!"
If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1) And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1) Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT? PB answer: It depends.

Lots of great things happen at the PB Conferernces. One of the best things I think is you get to meet, talk to, rub elbows, and maybe have a drink with many of those members that are just known as names on this great pond forum. I think we are a pretty friendly bunch of pondmeisters when we get together at the conferences. All here should try to attend at least one Pond Boss conference.

One of the oddest things about meeting PB members in person is actually hearing their voice after having read their posts.
It's a great time, and don't be shy. If you're screen name is different then your actual name, it adds a level of oddity. While there's nametags, you might have to be like "I'm SparkPlug, but call me Chuck!"
