Bottom line is.
24/7 DO monitoring/logging is going to be very expensive.

Water Temp Monitoring Oregon Scientific makes weather stations that collect Data. They have a Software to take the Data off of to a PC. (Data can be stored up to 6 months on slower reporting rates). There are 2 sensors that I know of for water temps. THWR800 floating wireless system made for pools ect.... Second is their earlier Model THC268 wireless sensor that came with a 10' waterproof wired temp sensor that could be submerged in water.
Also note that you can slao buy one of there cheaper reporting staions and put in your vehicle> (AA batts operation) You can do a drive by and pick up the signal and never leave you vehicle for real time observations.

As long as you make sure the Batteries are not dead and/or buy the solar charger. You have to also do the Data Download before the Data Logger fills up. The data logger logs anywhere from 1 to 15 minute intervalvs 24/7 and will hold over 27,000 event logs on the Professional center. I know some of the cheaper models log Data as well, just dont now how much. IF you wont to be Lazy or live away from your Pond you can get the Anywhere Weather Kit. It can upload Data VIA internet connection for you to look at. Oh Yea you can also do realtime checks VIA internet connection.
