What sizes? Stocking all together or in stages? When are you planning on stocking? In my non expert opinion, the the HBG number seems to very low and the RES number are low. At least for down here they are. Maybe one of the experts will chime in.

What are the goals here? Looks like a nice combo of sport and table fare. That looks like a lot of CC to me, but I assume a harvest plan is in place. Just as drumz inquired, are these all going in at the same time or are you letting anything establish first?

You'll be supplementally feeding with a quality pellet food, correct?

I believe you need more natural forage. Minnows won't last long. As these guys grow, your AMAX bill is going to be huge.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

If all species but the RES are pellet trained, it may work. You'll need to feed pellets and will have to restock most species. I think with the YP , RES and minimal HBG reproduction, you'll have enough natural forage if you feed pellets.

Is there any other fish I could add to help with my natural forage?

GSH will help (Golden Shiners). They swim faster than FHM, and inhabit more open water, and get larger.

YP can stunt without adquate predation/harvest. I don't think if the YP are reproducing that CC and HSB will crop them enough. You can act as the predator by harvesting some of them.

Predation of normally reproducing YP will depend on two main things: 1. number of HSB and CC, and 2. amount of weed cover in the pond. We have a couple ponds near me where HSB (50-60/ac) adequately control YP numbers when weeds are absent to low abundance. IMO HSB (daytime feeder) and CC (night feeder) will act as a combined predatory effort to control the day light active YP. If YP become abundant and slow growing then add more predators. The concern that I have is the CC may be able to recruit numerous young CC to the point of overpopulation if LMB are not present. It will be a learning experience and educational.

How long are you willing to let them establish. If Sam417 waits a year to stock predators, shouldn't he only need a pound of FHM now?

Will my most recently posted stocking plan be better than my first? My main goals here are good table fare. I really enjoy eating bluegills and catfish, so I would like to have fairly large bluegill. The YP would be more of an experiment. I have never really fished for them or eaten them, but I have heard that they are one of the best fish to eat.

I am also interested in the HBG,CC, and HSB combination and I would like to know more about how that works. My first plan that I listed I was trying to base a little bit off of that combination, but with YP and RES as well.

Sam417, I believe we have similar goals. Some posts that I have been asking questions in relation to table fare that may be of some interest to you:

http://forums.pondboss.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=23987&Number=301582#Post301582

Within that post is a good one:
http://forums.pondboss.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=196000&page=1

Also, for a little different way to see table fare/harvest; http://forums.pondboss.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=24310&Number=305672#Post305672

To help the pros answer your question better, when you say good table fare, do you mean good tasting - or- good as is in the quantity?

PS. Perch taste great. Right there with BG. But the two do taste differently.
