Help me solve this. I have a one room "fish camp" on our private lake that I go to fish and spend the night once a week. For the past two summers I have been coming home with 10 to 15 bites between my boobs and my knees. These red bites itch like crazy for one to two weeks. I know what your thinking, ciggers or red bugs, but maybe not and I'll explain why. This past Thursday I backed my truck very close to the wooden walkway that goes around the house so I would only take one step in the grass before I hit the walkway. As soon as I got in the house it was straight for the Deep Woods Off for a heavy spray to my legs. Re-applying every 3-4 hr. Next to the hose end lawn spray that I applied to the 300 sq ft of grass around the house as well as spraying the walkway that goes around the house and into the boathouse. . It does say the word chiggers on the label. So for the remainder of trip I never stepped in the grass again but I did manage to come home with ten new bites. Help me figure this one out, it's driving me mad! PS. My exterminator told me he has never seen a chigger inside a home. My bed sheets and blankets have been washed several times this summer.

Have you tried to get some insectide foggers and bomb the house. I know first hand chiggers will get in the house and continue to bite ya. When we come in from spring turkey hunting and throw our camo in the laundry room inevitably my wife always ended up with chiggar bites while doing laundry. I do not know how long they can live in the house but you can bring them in on your clothes and suffer the bites afterwards. We now are in the practice of dressing down outside and hanging the clothes on the deck. Bomb the house and treat the first 40 feet all around the cabin with your flavor of insectide granuals.

Thanks Ozark. That was my next move to bomb the house, and I will this week and report back. Don't think its bedbugs because the bites aren't severe like photos of their bites I have seen. I did not realize chiggers would get in the house and stay there cause I'm only down there once a week.
