I did not stock any cats in my new pond and I thought I had a mud cat infestation until I threw a line out and hooked this. Deep forked tail, black spots on side, lower jaw shorter than upper, rounded anal fin - fairly certain CC, just looking for confirmation.

The photos sure make it look like a channel cat.

CC is my vote...and appears to have eaten very well! Spawn is long over, can't be gravid.

Eating like that and it won't be long before that little joker is a 20 pounder and slurping down bass like its nobody's business. I would put that pork belly into the fryer along with any other ones you might catch. Think about all of the food that it took to get that channel so fat and then think about all of the hungry bass in your pond. LOL.

They have been showing up to eat every evening when I feed my BG. I am feeding Purina Sports Fish Chow.

No bass as of yet. New pond that filled up this past winter. Stocked 1100 CNBG mid May of this year. My plan is to stock FHM and RES this fall when they become available. The LMB will go in the following spring.

Also, I guess it is a good thing I placed some old concrete culverts in the pond so that the CC will have cavities to spawn in. Will they spawn in a 1-1.5 acre BOW?

Glad to see they were not BH like you orginally thought. I did watch your video and they acted exactly like my CC do at feed. And that is 100% a nice CC. I have 1.5 acres and they spawn every year in mine. Old tires work great as well as 10-12" diameter PVC cut and stuck into the side of the pond for spawning habitat.

I currently have 6 concrete culverts ranging from 16-24" placed in 4-8' of water. I was given 2 15" and 5 12" (all 3 to 4' long) this past weekend. I will be placing them this weekend. I'm not sure if I should roll them down to the deeper water (10-14'). I guess that is a question for the structure sub forum.

Once you get a LMB population, they'll reproduce but most if not all their YOY will be eaten by your bass.

No doubts whatsoever it's a channel catfish.

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.
