Those might not be white wild water lilies and could by hybrid whites. I cant see the flower close enough or well enough to decide. Ask if you can find out if these were originaly purchased or dug from the wild. Wild white lilies will spread a lot faster compared to hybrid water lilies because the wild ones produce fertile seeds AND lots more fragile tubers that break off the main roots and start new plants where ever they float to. My experience with all the whites is they tend to spread deeper compared to the pinks and reds. Some of the hybrid yellows also spread deeper compared to the pinks and reds.

For transplant follow Kelly's advice. The ones to dig for transplant are at the flower. Follow the flower stem into the sediment to get or locate the growing end or root tip. For replanting try to keep the growing tip slightly under, at, or exposed above the sediment.

If they start growing into area where you don't want them get back with us for proper herbicides to keep them under control.
