I enticed a 28 inch CC with a nightcrawler last night. He looked to be very well fed so I performed a little surgery. His gut was packed full of pond weeds (curley leaf pondweed and FA are very heavy in my pond) and, I assume, patially digested pellets. Are pondweeds part of the catfish diet, or do you suppose it is inadvertent ingestion? Question #2: Do CC lose their spots with age?

If they're hungry, they'll eat vegetation. I caught a 24 incher Sunday that upon autopsy looked to have eaten a lot of FA recently.
Mine seem to have fewer spots than when they were little. IIRC, literature frequently states that "young" CC have spots.

$45/hour plus expenses, but I've got to warn you, it could take a few years.
