OK, there's 800 YP that are 4" - 5" roaming around almost 5 acres of water. On another recent thread, I mentioned that the fish-guy said that they were feed-trained. You guys told me to pick up some feed and give it a shot. I was uncertain where to find it (conveniently).
I was out today and just happened to drive by a local area that I haven't been by in years. I completely forgot about that place that sells nothing but pet food...been there for years. The car hooked a right like it was turning into White Castle at 2:30 a.m. Bingo: fish feed. They had a 50# sack of Aqua-Max Grower 500 for $20 and a 50# sack of Purina Game Fish Chow (multi-sized particles) for $14. I not only didn't know which one to buy, but I didn't want 50# of a mistake. Then the clerk told me that they stock the Aqua-Max in bulk and I bought a couple of pounds for $2.00 to experiment.
Now, the question. This stuff is about the size of pepper corns. Isn't that gonna be tough for a 4" - 5" YP to consume? Also, given the above spec's and facts, which of the two products would be the better choice?

Both are good. GFC has different size pellets while AM pellet size is based on the # - 500 are adult size pellets. AM has a higher % protein than GFC. I don't recall what level of protein YP do best with but GFC at 32% is ok.

Aquanic says 32-40 % for feed so either will work.

BTW, that's a good price IME for either kind, Brettski.

You probably still find sliders for a nickel.
