If you didn't have enough reasons to attend the Pond Boss Conference at Table Rock Lake this fall, here is one more, courtesy my brother Thomas. This post-spawn 6# LMB hammered a spinnerbait this morning at around 6:30 am. Thomas was fishing from the bank using a 5' fast action rod and 4# test...it was quite a ride. Nothing like landing a fish that weighs more than the breaking strength of a line.

Zep, when you can't find something, always remember to take a peek in the archives (Common Pond Q&A) It's the 4th thread down. Bless you esshup. I often feel like I'm in a foreign country and very lost...lol. This translation page (I seemed to have lost along the way) will help. Thanks again.

Don't worry, Zep. JHAP has felt like that for years and has given up the search for a cure.... Sunil...it makes me feel better I'm not alone! I wonder if in the background program we could have all abreviations translated and actually appear as the full words to us rookies and slow learners? Or hyper-link all abbreviations so when you mouse over them the full words appear? Are they going to have an abbreviation tutor class at the PBC? (PBC translated = Pond Boss Conference)

my original stocking was in 05. there are only a few of them left. Mostly due to fisherman mortality. Are you feeding them? Do you have gizzard shad? Im wondering if the limiting factor is going to be how long they can keep fishermen from killing them. Yes, we feed aqua max LMB during the summer when our well is running. We also have a nice population of gizzard shad. We try to avoid catching them when the water temps get up.

Zep, great idea but absolutely no idea how to do that.
BTW, it doesn't take long to learn them.
You know, we don't have one called PJ for Pond Junkie or PB for Pond Bum..

Dave....I am no computer guru but I would think all the abbreviations could be made into a database that when a mouse rolls over them they would display the full word. But like you say I am going to try and learn them....it's my fault...I always waited til the night before a test to cram study...maybe thats why I failed Trig in high school...however I do wonder how many newbies that are more casual viewers are as lost as I am sometimes.

I still have to look up some of them. However, there are about 25 or so most common that are used all the time. You'll catch onto those pretty quickly.

I was working on the rope swing on the far side of the lake and on the way back across was trolling just a generic deep diving crankbait right down the middle of the lake. Was going very fast...

Biggest CNBG yet. Didn't measure him, but he had jowls so I assume he's fat and healthy. Feeding has definitely paid off. Momma was happy.

"Forget pounds and ounces, I'm figuring displacement!"
If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1) And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1) Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT? PB answer: It depends.

This is probably breaking the rules of this thread, but I'm not at a point in my life where I can own a pond. Here is a fish my wife caught 2 days ago on a jig (minnow imitation similar to the zoom superflukes). Scale read a little over 8 pounds, but seeing as it is a spring scale I don't trust it. My best guess is around 7 pounds... What do you guys think? No other measurements. We put it back into the water asap.
