Here's a picture of my backyard. The longer I'm on Pond Boss, the more I enjoy seeing other people's spreads.

Bruce, that looks awesome. I remember the pictures you posted when you were getting ready to buy this place - do you have any "before and afters"? The "befores" looked great, I can only imagine what you've done since - although a lot of your work has probably been below the water.
Just do it...

Bruce,
That's really cool. How big is the body of water in acres? What kind of average depth and maximum depth do you have? What's the clarity? Any smallmouth bass?
I think I remember it was originally a limestone quarry? (Sorry if it's already been mentioned but I don't read all the threads.)
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

12 acres of water. Average depth is 10+ feet with an maximum depth of 16 feet. It drops straight off in almost all areas of the pond, so the average is more than you'd think. It's actually hard to find areas that aren't at least nine feet deep. I've put in a few smallmouth, and you can see them cruising on occasion. They look awesome and I think they're reporoducing.
And yes, it was originally a limestone quarry.

Cool! I'll bet the smallies do really well in there. I've seen some awesome smallies come out of quarries and gravel pits! Here's one I just seined out of my bigger pond the other day on a practice seine in the shallow end of the pond. This one was is only 14 1/2 inches in length but all smallies look really healthy. No green carp in the pond this time around.

Esshup, all photos I've seen from the air don't have my house in the image. I'm still waiting to see the satellite flying overhead.
