Many, many, many electro fishing vessels simotaneously fish the whole Mississippi. Then.... BOOM! Problems solved! It many take many outings but this is my theory:)

Electroshockers only go down so deep, and some fish get the hell out of dodge in the outer range of the electricity, and many fish escape.
That said something similar is done with electric weirs on rivers for lamprey control.

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Start a rumor that their flesh contains a powerful aphrodisiac and they will be fished to extinction inside of 3 years.
Does the name Pavlov ring a bell?

Always thinking out of the box, DJT!
Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:" "She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."

We are undertaking a volunteer effort here in Nebraska in an attempt to get carp (particularly bighead) on the menus of more people. The wheels are already turning to get a market established for silver carp (will call them silverfish), but we'll be setting up a lakeside fillet table and have a couple local guides bring their catches for us to fillet, cook and serve.
I've never had bighead carp and am as skeptical as the next guy. But I have close friends who swear by it. This is definitely not a solution, just an attempt to pull something good out of an unfortunate situation.

Gill net them all, grind them up into fish meal for fish feed or organic fertilizer.
Goofing off is a slang term for engaging in recreation or an idle pastime while obligations of work or society are neglected........... Wikipedia

All ready being done on the Illinois River and don't forget the Omega-3 fish oil, that also is being done.

If there is money to be made off of removing them, someone will do it. Instead of depleting native forage fish like menhaden, remove these buggers and turn them into fish food, etc...

Humans will definitely deplete the resource in short order if there is simply a value put on them.
