I have been looking around on the site, and haven't found much about stocking bigger (12+ in.) LMB. The pond is full of stunted BG, HBG, and GSF. It is about 2.5 acres (according to google earth). About how many LMB should I put in. I have changed my mind about having decent LMB and BG, and would rather have big LMB, so keep that in mind.
Thanks, Jason

To know where to go you have to know where you are. Are there any LMB in there now? If so how many and what is there condition? A few LMB can go a long way.

When I started there were no LMB just the sunfish. So far I have put in 20 bass, 10 from 6-8 inches, 9 from 10-14 inches, and 1 17 incher.

That may well be enough. I would wait and see how next spring's spawn works out then if needed add some more next summer.

Well I put in about 5 more little ones. I went down to the pond a couple days ago and saw about 10 bass cruising. They were mostly about 12 inchers, but I saw 2 nice ones. I caught a REALLY fat 20 in. that ate my bluegill as I was reeling it in. I saw one bed with nothing on it and one bed with a 12 in. on it. Looks like they survived the winter!

Glad to hear they are still alive and spawning. I would throw this out there for you to think about....
Remove at least 150 HBG and GSF total from your 2.5ac they will take food away from your smaller LMB and you don't have large enough LMB to control the adult HBG and GSF.
This will help with your current age class of LMB that can't eat adult HBG and GSF come next year, and help the young classes not struggle for food coming up.
Just something to think about.

I have been tossing out all the HBG and GSF that I catch, then tossing back the regular bluegills. I have probably tossed out 400-500 since I started fishing down there and don't think I have made a dent. I am guessing the pond has been without bass for a long time because the panfish are EVERYWHERE and are the skinniest things I've ever seen.
