It may have even ruined his excitement of likely getting more SMB brood stock this spring. Actually, that pop eye disorder on the BG is far more common in fish than you'd think. Often due to an infection from an eye injury.

However, looking at this eyeball and talking about jellied pig's knuckles is enough to make even the most cast iron gut just a little queasy! Sunil, hang in there, bro! You'll come through alright! Rex, this fish definitely had a serious issue and, as I mentioned earlier in the thread, it did appear to be puss that came out of the eye which, if that's what it was, certainly supports the infection theory. I journeyed to the other the side of the mountain early this morning -- the side of the mountain where Todd L and family have some beautiful ponds. I knew I was over the top of the mountain when I stopped at a convenience store. It was about mid-morning. I needed gasoline. I needed to pee. I needed a snack. I asked for a quarter-pound Big-Bite. The extremely friendly workers in the convenience store said they could fix a hot dog for me, but ... Instead of unhealthy hot dogs on gummy white-bread buns, they had fresh store-made WV pepperoni rolls. If you've never had a western-WV peperoni roll, you just ain't lived! Hot peperoni and cheese, baked inside sweet buttered bread dough! This is some good eatn' Todd and I got in contact for lunch. I had soup and a sandwich. Another good friend, one of our state's main fishery dudes had soup and a sandwich. Todd had ice water and a straw. Todd is one hardened dude, but I think the boy had just been grossed out by his new avatar. He didn't say a word about it at lunch. I'll look through my collection of photos.
