These might be an option for people who want a small house at their pond but don't have a large amount of money to spend. The small spaces might take use to getting to but upkeep would not be much.

That's pretty cool. At some point I was wanting to build a small cabin next to our pond so we can comfortably stay out there for nights at a time. I love the looks of the tiny houses. I've never been one that needed a lot of space, actually prefer something smaller and "cozy". These definitely fit the bill. Thanks for sharing.

Your welcome. My friend showed them to me and I thought I should share. If you build the house yourself, you could probably save some more. It only takes a few tools and I am sure most members could build one.

Yeah, I was considering using some of the trees I had to take down to make a place for the pond and simply make a cabin/shed. Something that I could store things in, but also big enough that I could sleep comfortably if I wanted to hang out for a few nights. My pond is tucked back in the woods so I'm not concerned about aesthetics.

Well it sounds like one of these places would fit that setup perfectly. You could even tuck one of these into the woods with minimal tree removal. Also, you could change the dimensions a little bit to make it fit if you are taller. The shed might be bigger than the house.

Yeah, if nothing else could buy the plans if I can't find anything better out there.

I did it the easy way and bought a used 2 bedroom mobile home. I refer to it as my "poor white trash trailer house". It keeps the rain out and the cool air in. I'm using a construction office trailer for storage. My Wife is always trying to get me to clean up the junk. I refer to the junk as surplus building material.

Pretty neat idea but I don't like the looks of a roof that has already starting rusting out.

This past Friday I was actually searching for companies that deal in "vintage tin roofs" because that's the look I want. I found a company that has that as their speciality. In fact they even sell a version that replicates the vintage look but won't seep rust on anything. I think it's pretty neat in certain settings. I want a "new" cabin with granite countertops, flat screen TV, internet connection, washer/dryer/fridge/distressed hardwood floors but looks 100 years old.

I like the idea of decorating something that will last for years and is generally a forgotten area of the structure.

However, if it periodically has to be "maintained", forget it.
