I was just looking for ideas what some of you use to cover aerator at ponds edge. I was thinking of putting one of those plastic fake rocks over it, I will be pouring a small concrete pad for it to sit on. Should I be worried about it getting enough air ?

Yes you should worry about it getting enough air. I built a small doghouse with ventilation in both ends, covered it with siding and pitched roof just like on the house. I even have a small fan I use in real hot weather to keep air moving.

Fake rocks without accessory ventilation fans create too hot of conditions for compressors and thus dramatically shorten the life of the compressor. I've seen dead compressors and melted plastics associated with compressors that were ran under fake rocks. Compressors generate a lot of heat that needs to be removed with ample ventilation either good natural or assisted air flow. Bing presents a good design.

If you are still going with the rock consider putting in two vents for cross ventilation.
